Your Teacher Website Here.

You can use your H-Drive (eFolio / Network Folder) to create a Personal Web Page for your classroom, to publish web pages or share files on the Internet to your students.

You can display your documents on the Internet — or share links for classroom projects or assignments using this as a template.  This Web Sharing makes it a snap.

Here’s how it works: Create your website by changing this page (it's called "index.htm" and it's in your network folder in your H drive home folder) and creating any other HTML pages you want.  We recommend creating another folder called "website" to hold all of your web page material.

Once you’re ready, paste your index.htm file in your folder, then send your web address to other people.  Your website will be http://teach.clarkschools.net/"username"   It is that simple!

That’s it. You’re done — your page is ready for viewing.

HTML, anyone?

HTML is easy — so easy that even a first-time user can do it. That's because you don’t have to learn HTML to use it.

Clark Technology department offers several trainings to help you create your web pages if you are uncomfortable with training yourself. Click here register for training.

Leading word processing applications, such as Microsoft Word and AppleWorks 6, actually generate HTML webpages for you with just a few clicks of a mouse.

HTML — short for hypertext markup language — is what webmasters and designers use to publish text and graphics on the Internet in a form that can be read by any web browser.

To create an HTML webpage in Microsoft Word, all you have to do is choose Save as HTML from the File menu. Word will save your work as an HTML page, ready for publishing on the Internet.  Next, just type in the name you want to save the page with and click the Save button, and it’s like boom — instant HTML.

Web Site authoring tools:

Quick Start Guide to Your
Personal Web Site

1. Use this as a template or create a new  the HTML page for your website and put them in your network folder at the home level.  From school, go to my computer to access your H drive.  From home, go to ftp://staff.clarkschools.net and enter your username with "clark\" in-front of it, then your password.

2. To use this as a template download it, then drag and drop it to your network folder.  Right Click and "save target as"... on this file**Make sure to name it "index.htm"

3. Substitute your own content for the text, graphics, and links in this page (index.htm) to create a customized welcome page. Create other HTML pages following your application's instructions for linking pages and graphics to a self created "WebSite" folder at the home level.  Your links and images will be best to come from that level.

4. Make sure you have a working network connection and access to your H drive/network folder/ efolio. If you need help, see your TRT or Technician by sending in a help desk request @ http://fmpro.clark.k12.ky.us:591/HelpDesk

5.  Note the address for your website (that is the only way others / students / parents can access your site), is http://teach.clarkschools.net/username

Give this address to all.  They can connect to your site and view your published documents by typing this address in their web browser.
